Last night marked the 3rd year in a row that our World Link students in Dinuba, Kingsburg, Orange Cove, and Reedley, California volunteered at Reedley’s Taste of Town put on by the Reedley Downtown Association.
Our student’s duties included helping set up the event, taking tickets, and cleaning up throughout the event and after.
During the event they met with the director for the local retirement home and set up their cluster’s International Education Week event as well a date for the Fall Jamboree. Viktorija (Macedonia/CA) got up on stage and sang with the band and the group learned that “put the water in the buckets” does not mean “open the bottles and pour water into the buckets”. Everyone had a pretty good laugh once they figured out what they meant!
Each year, the Reedley Downtown Association praises our group of students for how hard they work and how much fun they add to the event. The event holders are already excited for our new group next year!
